Buhari, Atiku condole Tambuwal over death of elder brother

President Muhammadu Buhari joins Sokoto Emirate Council, government and people of Sokoto State as well as family of the Governor, Rt. Honorable Aminu Waziri Tambuwal in mourning the demise of esteemed religious and community leader, Alhaji Muhammadu Bello, Wazirin Tambuwal.

Before his death, he was the Head of Waziri Tambuwal family in Tambuwal, having succeeded the Governor’s late father, Alhaji Umar Waziri Usmanu.

President Buhari said he was deeply grieved to learn about the death of Wazirin Tambuwal, saying that the late Muhammadu Bello “will be remembered for his insightful knowledge on matters of Islamic law and spirituality. He was also passionate about community service and social empowerment.

“My deepest condolences to his family and countless well-wishers, as well as to his brothers, Abdullahi Waziri and Governor Tambuwal,” said the President in a statement by his spokesman Garba Shehu.

Also, former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar has expressed his sympathy to Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State over the death of his elder brother and the Wazirin Tambuwal, Alhaji Bello Muhammadu.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday by his media office, the former Vice president said: “I’m deeply touched and devastated by the news of your elder brother’s demise, Alhaji Bello Muhammadu, the Wazirin Tambuwal.”

“From what I have heard of him, he was a gentleman and a humble leader who was widely respected by his people. Such testimony is a reflection of his fine character and leadership qualities.”

“As you mourn the passing of this gentleman, I wish to extend my heartfelt sympathy to you and your entire family over this irreparable loss. May Allah bless his soul and reward his good deeds with paradise. Ameen.”
