Buhari, Badaru mourn Emir of Gaya

President Muhammadu Buhari and Jigawa State Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar have expressed sadness and sympathy over the death of the Emir of Gaya Alhaji Ibrahim Abdulkadir.

Buhari, in a message by presidential spokesman Garba Shehu, described the late monarch as “one of the finest traditional rulers in the country who had brought dignity, simplicity and respect to the institution.”

The President noted that “the late monarch was a gentleman who had served his people with passion and selflessness and will be remembered for his commitment to the development of his domain.”

President Buhari commiserated with the Government of Kano State, the Gaya Emirate Council and the family of the deceased and prayed Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and reward his good deeds abundantly.

Also, Jigawa State Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar sent a condolence message to his Kano State counterpart Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje over the death of the Gaya emir.

The governor, in a statement by his Special Adviser Media and Public Relations Habibu Nuhu Kila, described the death of the Emir of Gaya as a great loss to Gaya royal family, Government and people of Kano state and also to the nation in general.

Governor Badaru said the late Emir was a symbol of peace whose reign brought about peaceful coexistence among his people and his Neighbors. He then pray to Almighty God to grant him eternal rest and sympathize with his family, Gaya Emirate, people and Government of Kano state.
