The Technical Committee for the Bauchi State 2023 Transition has identified seven priority areas and provided a roadmap for the administration of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed on how to consolidate on the achievements recorded in its first tenure.
The committee led by Dr Usman Bugaje presented the committee’s report to the governor at the Government House Bauchi, on Friday.
Bugaje said experts in the fields of economic development, infrastructure, education, Health and agriculture were consulted in the course of the committee’s assignment.
Highlighting the committee’s recommendations Dr Bugaje said if properly implemented the report would guide the present administration towards fulfilling the promises made during electioneering campaign period and explained that today governance is a scientific business that requires adequate planning.
He commended Mohammed for providing them with necessary support to ensure the success of the assignment.
Bugaje said the committee is full of hope that the governor will implement the report submitted, using the channel to congratulate him once more on his reelection victory.
He stressed the need to constitute an implementation committee that will hit the ground running.
Governor Bala Mohammed said with this development his administration would swing into action using the available resources to meet the demands of the citizens.
He expressed concern on the challenges being faced in areas education, healthcare services and human capital development.
Governor Bala appreciated them for producing a comprehensive report that would support his effort in moving the state forward.
He said his administration will focus on implementing effective strategies mitigate the effects of removal of fuel subsidy, to ensure living standard of citizens is lifted high, in addition to consolidating on the successes recorded in the first tenure.
While commending the leadership and members of the Committee for the thorough and sterling report he described top-notch, and pledged to implement it for the best interest of Bauchi State.
He said his administration has recorded tremendous successes in all sectors, during his first term in office and attributed it to the support and contributions of stakeholders and leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), traditional rulers and their institutions and the public.
The governor said the committee’s report will assist in examining his administration’s laudable achievements in the last four years, in addition to boosting his morale to do more for the state as part of his effort to beautifying, rebuilding and actualizing the NewBauchiProject.
The governor said his Bauchi project which was a document prepared in 2019 assisted greatly in shaping various developmental projects in the state and explained that there is the need to consolidate the gains recorded.
Governor Bala encouraged for continues understanding from the people, particularly on his administration’s policy of using little resources to achieve results.
He assured that he will appoint an implementation committee immediately to fast track the utilization of the committee’s report for sustainable growth and development of the state.
