The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced that 655 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 and five deaths were recorded in the country on the Tuesday 24th of August 2021.
The 655 new cases are reported from 9 states- Lagos (288), Rivers (188), Oyo (64), Akwa Ibom (31), FCT (28), Ekiti (21), Edo (17), Bayelsa (11), and Kaduna (7).
“Till date, 188243 cases have been confirmed, 169035 cases have been discharged and 2281 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
“A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 2, continues to coordinate the national response activities,” it said on Wednesday as part of its daily update.
