Customs intercepts smuggled drugs with fake NAFDAC number in Katsina

The Nigeria Customs Service, Strike Force Zone B, on Tuesday, disclosed that its operatives intercepted N6.1 million hard drugs with fake National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control’s registration number.

The seizure was reportedly made in Katsina State.

The strike force’s coordinator, Oseni Olorukooba, made the disclosure in Katsina during the display of the seized drugs.

According to Olorukooba, the drugs were intercepted by the Force operatives in Malumfashi and Jibia Local Government Areas of the state.

He gave the breakdown of the seized drugs to include “52 cartons of EJAC powder manpower, hympashy capsule, amipara plus capsule, bobarak capsule manpower, sacks manpower, goldfly, gonorrhoea capsule and ginseng coffee manpower.”

Olorukooba also disclosed that other items seized by the operatives included 550 bags of foreign rice, 300 cartons of foreign spaghetti, 790 cartons of foreign soap concealed in biscuits and noodles’ cartons and a motorcycle with the duty paid value of N104,788,000.

He noted that smuggling has adverse effects on Nigeria’s economy and trading activities.

He assured Nigerians that operatives will continue to discourage smuggling in Nigeria.
