A political support group, Patriotic Movement for Asiwaju 2027, formerly known as Patriotic Movement for Asiwaju 2023, has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s supporters not to lose their sleep over the coalition that joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) recently.
While dismissing the coalition as an Amalgamation of Discreditted Citizens (ADC), the group also described members of the coalition as a bunch of political failures and rejected self acclaimed leaders of their people.
This position is contained in a statement signed by the trio of Alh Abubakar Abdullahi Sokoto, Ag. National Coordinator, Elder Gbolagade Oladiji, Deputy National Coordinator and Hon.Victor Okafor Uchechuku, National Secretary.
“The Association calls on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s supporters not lose sleep for a coalition of a bunch of political failures and rejected self acclaimed leaders of their people. The coalition is nothing but an Amalgamation of Discreditted Citizens (ADC).
“We wonder how someone will lay claim to leadership of a state, which he neither has governor, nor members of the National or State assembly on his side, but continues to be day-dreaming that his people are with him.
“Tell us who among leaders of the coalition is having a grip of political leadership in their state. Is it Sule Lamido whose state is under the total control of APC, or confused El-Rufai who deceived former Governor Ambode of Lagos State, by promising him to retire and stop politics of Godfatherism, but abandoned Ambode at the middle of the turbulent sea to join Tinubu’s ship to a calm 2023 destination?
“It is good that the characters of leaders behind the coalition are beginning to emerge at this early time. This will expose to right thinking Nigerians who these people are. Did they contribute to their progress in the past for them to seek for their support now?
“We are still in a heavy shock, by receiving news that former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Buhari government has dumped APC to join the coalition. We were waiting to hear rejection of Malami by the leaders of the coalition, as a result of his atrocities commited against Nigerians as a result of the support of inhuman cashless policy and even when the Supreme Court ruled that old and new currencies be accepted simultaneously, he, as the Minister of Justice vehemently rejected it. Birds of the same feather fly together.
“Do the members of the coalition or Malami himself forget so soon hundreds of thousands of Nigerians they sent to their eairly grave as a result of their wicked, infamous and unpopular cashless policy? Do they not see how they ruined Nigerian economy with that singular act?”
Also in the statement, the group said, “Let El-Rufa’i who led the then National Chairman of the APC Abdullahi Adamu and prominent members of the party to Supreme Court to object the Attorney-General objection of Supreme Court ruling on cashless policy, point out a single country in the world which its Minister of Justice upturned decision of its Apex Court just for personal reasons or interest?
“We thought Malami could be wise enough to distance himself from political activities, to prepare to face consequences of his actions against innocent Nigerians which will definately trail him, either in this world or the hereafter….
“Let me come back to the issue of El-Rufa’i, the most vocal of Tinubu-must-be-stopped campaign. We would like members of the coalition to be careful of that character, because he may equally abandon them at the middle of the coast or at critical time, as he did to Ambode.
“He might be raising a stake for negotiated statement about allegation raised against him, by the Kaduna State Government of financial mismanagement.
“We can from now on continue to expose the role played by the emerging leaders of the coalition that put Nigeria in its present predicament and try to come back to sink it deep down, because they realize with the laudable programmes and developmental blueprint of President-Tinubu’s Government, they would be exposed and their political relevance will be terminated permanently.
“We would like Nigerians to critically assess leaders of the coalition individually, that will make them agree with us that the coalition is dead before arrival, not on arrival. We are sure Nigeria’s one of the major stakeholders of the coalition Labour Party has opted out.
“A most setback for the group is presence of many serial betrayers. If one betrays a person that helped him to be what he is. possibility of not betraying the next person is negative.
“Let’s start with the young among leaders of the coalition, former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal. We could vividly recall how he became Speaker of the House of Representatives against decision of his party, the PDP during President Jonathan’s presidency.
“We all know the role played by President Tinubu to make sure Tambuwal emerged against the candidature of his Yoruba sister who was the PDP nominee for the position. Not to stop at that, President Tinubu continued to support Waziri and shielded him against the wrath of his party that planned to deal with him for disobeying party directive.
“When it was the turn for Tambuwal to reciprocate what President did to him by allowing Femi Gbajabiamila to succeed him as requested by Tinubu, he did not only refuse to help Gbaja but he strongly supported Dogara to emmerge.
“Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike swallowed bitter pills of Tambuwal’s betrayals, time and space will not be enough for us to give detail in this short press statement. Former Governors of Sokoto State Bafarawa and Wamakko may have stories to tell.
“Rauf Aregbesola: It has not been cotradicted even by Aregbe himself that God has used Tinubu to raise him from grass to grace. An indigine of Osun State, he served in a ministry as powerful as works in Lagos State for eight good years. President Tinubu also supported him to be governor against all odds.He has now teamed up with people who want to pull President Tinubu down, what an irony.
“Rotimi Amaechi: We just saw how a trader cum Industrialist was alleged to have been collecting billions of Nigeria commonwealth to upgrade her industry; we equally heard how her husband recieved assistance from the present Minister Nyesom Wike among which made him to be a governor in his Rivers State. Amaechi is paying Wike with bad coin.
“Any structure built on weak foundation will be bound to fail. Surely All Discreditted Citizens Coalition is already a failure; a Coalition which neither its Interim Chairman and former Senate President David Mark nor its Interim Secretary Rauf Aregbesola controls the government of their state.”
Earlier, the association paid tribute to its founder Hajia Dr. Rabia Yasai Hassan Cengiz (RAKAD), who died couple of months ago after protracted ilness in Abuja.
“The good thing which all members of Patriotic Movement should rejoice with is that before her death Hajia Rabia witnessed the emergence of President Tinubu, the main purpose for the formation of the association.
“We strongly believe that if she were still alive she would work tirelessly for President Tinubu’s second term in office. In order to accomplish what we believe could have been her interest, the National Executive Committee arrived at the following decisions: The Association Shall heathforth be called and referred to as PATRIOTIC MOVEMENT FOR PRESIDENT TINUBU SECOND TERM 2027
“That the National Deputy Coordinator North take charge of the Association leadership in the interim pending the convocation of NEC meeting which is coming soon to plan ahead of 2027 General Elections.”
