A Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Takai Local Government Area of Kano State, Mahi Ahmad Ali, has won the Qur’an recitation competition (60 hizb category) organised by the Kano State Police Command.
The competition, which started on Wednesday, drew 39 Qur’an reciters and memorisers who competed in 60, 40, 5 and 2 hizbs categories, taking home different prizes
ASP Salihu Ismail won the 40 hizb category, BBC reported.
The Emir of Kano, represented by the Dan Amar of Kano Aliyu Harazumi, honoured the Kano State Commissioner of Police Samaila Dikko for being the first to organise the competition.
