El-Rufai renames public buildings, streets in Kaduna

Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has officially commissioned the Magajin Gari Sambo House, Office of the Kaduna Capital Territory Authority, in a streak of unveilings of renamed public buildings and streets in the city.

The initiative to rename public buildings across the state is premised on the need to remember those who contributed to the growth of the city and state and to preserve our illustrious history, the KCTA said.

The renamed public buildings and streets unveiled by the governor on Tuesday include:

College Road, Ungwan Dosa, after AVM Usman Muazu, former military governor of Kaduna State.

Sokoto Road up to Government House, after Sir Kashim Ibrahim, former Governor of the Northern Region.

Investment House, in honour of former Vice President Namadi Sambo.

State High Court Complex in honour of Justice Muhammad Lawal Uwais.

The State Secretariat in honour of Maccido Dalhat, former SSG.

Kaduna State Public Procurement Authority (KADPPA) in honour of Architect Barnabas Yusuf Bala, who was Deputy Governor from 2015 to 2019.

The Ministry of Health complex is named after Dorathy Miller, the longest serving Commissioner of Health.

In the coming months, the Administrator will continue the unveiling of renamed public buildings and streets within Kaduna City.
