Electricity: DisCos slash tariff for Band A customers

Electricity distribution companies, popularly known as (DisCos) have announced a reduction in tariff for their customers on Band A who enjoy at least 20 hours of power supply daily.

The Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (Ikeja Electric Plc) and Kaduna Electric announced the development in a circular on Monday.

They reduced their tariff for Band A customers to N206.80 per kilowatt-hour (kwh), from the N225 per kwh approved four weeks ago by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC). Before the NERC approval in April, a kilowatt hour was from N66.

Ikeja Electric said in the circular, “Please be informed of the downward tariff review of our Band A feeders from N225/kwh to N206.80/kwh effective 6th May 2024 with guaranteed availability of 20-24hrs supply daily”.
