
A former Chief Medical Director of the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) Professor Abdulhamid Isa Dutse has passed on, family sources confirmed to Dateline Nigeria on Monday.
Prof Dutse, who was appointed CMD of AKTH in 2003, was until his death working at the Department of Medicine, King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
He was also the physician who oversaw the controversial test of the antibiotic Trovan on children with meningitis in Kano in 1996.
According to the Journal of AIDS & Clinical Research, Dutse’s research interests reflect in HIV/AIDS, Immunization against Infectious Disease.
