Ex-President Jonathan ‘survives road accident, loses 2 aides’

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has survived a fatal road accident on Wednesday evening in Abuja.

The auto crash however led to the death of two aides of the former president, according to Leadership newspaper.

Jonathan was “fine and okay”, one of his aides, who confirmed the accident, said, adding that the accident occurred when the ECOWAS Special Envoy was on his way from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport to his residence in Abuja.

The Federal Road Safety Commission Corps Public Education Officer, Bisi Kazeem, confirmed the incident to Punch newspaper.

“It was is convoy. Nothing happened to him and his car is not involved in the accident. The vehicles in his convy had a bash and two died, two are at the national hospital and are recuperating. Seven cars were however involved in the accident,” Kazeem said.
