FCT police chief presents N74.4m insurance cheques to families of fallen officers

The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, has presented Group Life Assurance cheques worth N74.4 million to 143 next of kin of police officers who died in active service.

The presentation was made on Thursday, September 18, 2026, at the FCT Police Command Headquarters, Garki II, Abuja.

According to a statement by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the total sum presented was N74,424,762.

CP Sanusi said the gesture is part of the Nigeria Police Force’s continued commitment to the welfare of personnel and families of fallen heroes, under the leadership of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu.

While addressing the beneficiaries, the CP conveyed his condolences and acknowledged the sacrifices made by the officers in service to the nation.

He reassured the families of the Force’s continued support and stressed that the sacrifices of the fallen heroes will never be forgotten.
