Fintiri receives political decampees in Shelleng

Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has received members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who moved to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Shelleng Local Government Area.

The leaders of the decampees include Philip Gatuwa, Sayyada Sadiya Hussain, Ahmed Juggal, Ishaku Tala, and Abdulkadir Mai, among others, with their supporters from other opposition parties.

The governor expressed the conviction that the PDP will take over the mantle of leadership at the federal level having already silenced opposition in Adamawa with rare performance.

Receiving the defectors, the State PDP Chairman, Barr. A. T. Shehu noticed that the returnees are great pillars in the political arena in Shelling Local Government and assured them of fair treatment and a good playing ground in PDP.

Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Mr Philip Gatuwa and Sayyada Sadiya Hussaini pleaded with the governor not to relent in his urban renewal programme and other major towns’ projects in the state and pledged to be his foot soldiers at the grassroots.

The governor was accompanied by Speaker State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas, Members State House of Assembly, Commissioners, Political Appointees, and close associates to the Governor among others.
