Dr. Umar also claimed that the council granted approval for the procurement of 2100 metric tons of maize for N548 million, 900 metric tons of fertilizer for N430 million, and the purchase of six metric tons of Nigerian milled rice for N442 million, all sourced from the Federal Government.

Additionally, he stated that a compassionate step has been taken by approving the acquisition of 30,000 bags of Sahel NPK 20.10.10 fertilizer for N675 million, which will be sold at a subsidized rate to civil servants and the general public.

“This deliberate approach aims to alleviate the impending challenges of hunger and suffering among its citizens.
