A popular Samsung store located behind Eterna filling station around Banex Junction in Wuse II Abuja has been gutted by fire.
Dateline Nigeria reports that the showroom displays latest and expensive Samsung mobile devices and accessories as well as television sets and other household items.
The fire reportedly broke out around 8pm Monday and destroyed goods worth millions of naira. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained as at press time.
Confirming the incident, the FCT Emergency Management Agency Public Relations Officer Nkechi Isa, said first responders were attacked by hoodlums who were looting the store.
She said: “Hoodlums attacked men of the Federal Fire Service who were sent to quench the fire, so they had to request for reinforcement from the Police and NSCDC.”
