Free vehicular movement has been restored on the Abuja–Kaduna Expressway after a swift intervention by the Federal Road Safety Corps cleared a major obstruction at Azara Bridge in the Jere axis.
The gridlock was triggered by ongoing road construction and the breakdown of an articulated vehicle conveying a crane at a narrow diversion point. The incident threatened to paralyze traffic on the busy corridor.
Acting on directives from Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed, personnel of the FCT Sector Command mobilized to the scene alongside the Nigerian Army and construction officials. The joint team coordinated the evacuation of the obstructing vehicle.
The FRSC said the decisive response cleared the obstruction within record time, preventing further congestion and associated risks on the highway.
