FUD bursar receives NANS award for integrity, transparency

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Zone A has honored the second substantive Bursar Federal University Dutse, Malam Hassan Balarebe with integrity and transparency award.

He received the award for the effective management of FUD’s Students Union Government monies since his assumption of duty as Bursar.

Comerade Bashir Suleman Limanci, NANS Zone A Treasurer who presented the award said the President of NANS, Comràde Sunday Aschefon directed him to present the award to the Bursar because of his transparent management of SUG funds

He said the President was impresed with the Bursar and FUD when he learnt that of all the higher institutiion in the country that attended the pre-convention meeting held recently, it was only FUD whose SUG did not complain about the poor management their funds by their respective institutions.

Hence the directive that the Bursar of FUD should give an award to commend his effort and motivate him to do more.
He congratulated the Bursar ànd urge him to keep the flag flying.

Comrade Limànci said NANS have been following the development at FUD especially the recent accreditation of the medical college and 18 other programs, the ranking of the university as the best university in the Northwest Zone and the digital Vice-Chancellor award presented to the VC recently adding that without the support of the VC the Bursar cannot succeed.

In his remark, Malam Hassan Balarebe thanked the students body for recognising the little effort they are making to make the university better because peaceful cooperation between students and management is key to progress in the university.

Whatever he has achieved is due to the support of the Vice-Chancellor and his management team adding that since his appointment as Bursar he has been trying to improve the service delivery of the department so that it can serve the university community better.

The Vice-Chancellor , Professor Abdulkarim Sabo Mohammed congratulated the Bursar for a well deserved award adding that the experience of the Bursar in university finance management has helped not only the SUG but the university at large.

He said the priority of his administration will continue to remain students centered because without students there will be no university.

He commended the SUG for the cordial relationship that exist between them and the management adding that students of the university are peaceful and law abiding at times.
