FUD gets NUC’s full accreditation for Medicine & Surgery, 18 other programmes

The Federal University Dutse has received full accreditation from the National Universities Commission (NUC) for Medicine and Surgery, and 18 other academic programmes in College of Medicine and five faculties of the University.

The approval was contained in a letter dated April 14, 2022 addressed to the Vice-Chancellor and signed by the Executive Secretary, NUC, through the commission’s Director of Accreditation stating that the full accreditation is valid for the next five years.

The accreditation follows the inspection and validation of manpower resources and facilities available for training of highly skilled graduates in respective disciplines.

The full accredited programmes by the NUC are:

  1. Medicine and Surgery
  2. Anatomy
  3. Physiology
  4. Agriculture
  5. Accounting
  6. Actuarial Science
  7. Banking and Finance
  8. Business Administration
  9. Taxation
  10. Linguistics (Arabic)
  11. Linguistics (English)
  12. Biochemistry
  13. Biology
  14. Environmental Management and Toxicology
  15. Mathematics
  16. Microbiology
  17. Economics
  18. Information Technology
  19. Software Engineering

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abdulkarim Sabo Mohammed who expressed his gratitude to the staff and students of the university for this great achievement said the university will not rest on its oars in maintaining the standards and quality of its programs.

He said accreditation of the medical program is no small achievement for the university adding that it is a wakeup call for staff and students to double their effort in ensuring that the MBBS programme of the university is among the best in the country.

The VC thanked the Academic Planning Directorate for working round the clock to make the accreditation exercise a huge success.
