Girl, 11, brutalised by ‘madam’ rescued in Anambra

Happiness said her madam used broken bottle, iron, knife and pistol on her in just two weeks

The Anambra State Women and Social Welfare Commissioner, Hon Ify Obinabo has Intervened and rescued an 11-year old-girl Happiness Nwafor from her madam who brutalized her in Onitsha.

The Commissioner who was notified of the incident earlier on Wednesday by Defend Your Rights Foundation quickly swung into action by dispatching her team to the scene.

Speaking, the survivor, little Miss Happiness Nwafor said she was beaten by her madam one Adachukwu Cukelu-Okafor for touching her daughter’s body.

Happiness explained that her madam Ada used broken bottle, iron, knife and pistol on her in just two weeks of her stay.

Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the suspect Adachukwu who brutalized the 11 year old, burnt the little girl’s clothes and dropped her off naked with her relative Ifeoma Muoghalu.

While speaking at the hospital where she was first rushed to in Ogidi, the relative Ifeoma Muoghalu said the suspect Cukelu-Okafor boasted that nothing will happen because she’s a lawyer and knows how to work her way out.

Ifeoma equally noted that since the incident the suspect has not been taking her calls. She also confirmed that the 11 year old was handed over to her madam on the 5th of January only to be disfigured within the short period of her stay.

On her part, the women affairs boss, Obinabo lamented over the incident and promised to do everything in her power to apprehend the suspect.

Obinabo after encouraging the survivor, assured that the present Soludo administration will not rest until justice is served.

As at the time of this report, the 11 year old survivor who is visibly in pain has been brought to Awka in an undisclosed hospital where she’s receiving treatment.

The suspect one Ada Chukere-Okafor who hails from Nkpor is said to be married to an Awka man. The suspect is resident at Igwilo street Akapka, off Isieke by Actus Dei Schools Akapka Onitsha.
