Governor Inuwa Harps On Peaceful Electioneering Exercise, As He Graces Mosque Commissioning In Gombe

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has stressed the need for religious leaders to continue to preach for tolerance, and admonish their followers to play politics without bitterness to ensure peaceful conduct of the upcoming 2023 general elections.

Governor Inuwa stated this at the commissioning ceremony of newly remodelled Sayyadah Fatima Zahra Jumaat Mosque ( popularly known as Sheikh Naziru Mosque) along Gombe-Biu by pass, Gombe.

He also urged the clerics to continue to support and encourage those in authorities at all levels with prayers and guidance.

He said, “peace is the panacea for any meaningful development. We must therefore do everything possible to strengthen the ideals of peace as we approach the elections.

“Politicians must learn to play the game by the rules and shun all acts capable of breeding violence and acrimony in the society.”

The Governor also used the occasion to urge those who are yet to collect their Permanent Voters’ Cards to take advantage of the INEC’s window of opportunity to do so as it is their only weapon to entrench good governance in the state and the nation.

Governor Inuwa lauded Dr. Bala Bello Tinka for footing the bill for the renewal of the Mosque, praying Almighty Allah to reward him abundantly as well as all those who contributed to the realisation of the project.

He also appreciated the founder of the masjid, Sheikh Naziru Idris for his tireless efforts and contribution to the cause of Tijjaniya and Islam in general.

He maintained that the expansion and renewal of the place of worship is an act that will surely attract rewards from Almighty Allah.

The Emir of Gombe, Alhaji Dr. Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III, who was represented by the District head of Jalo Waziri, Alhaji Bappah I. Mohammed, urged community leaders in the area to ensure proper use of the place of worship, even as he commended Governor Inuwa and Dr. Bala Tinka for investing towards the upgrade and renewal of the Mosque.

In his remarks, the guest speaker, Khalifa Sayyadi Baba Ali said he was in Gombe to support Sheikh Naziru in appreciating Governor Inuwa Yahaya for all the support he’s been giving to the Tijjaniya, Islam and humanity in general, saying the governor has proved himself to be a leader for all.

He advised the congregation to ensure voting for credible people of proven intergrity that will bring peace and development in the state and the country, citing Inuwa Yahaya as such leaders.

He said they have no amount of words to show their appreciation to the governor and Dr Bala Bello Tinka, and congratulated the duo for being among those that were selected to spend their wealth for the sake of Allah.

The religious leader called on the people of the area to make good use of the Mosque, urging them to reciprocate the gesture especially during the forth coming general elections.

In his comment, Dr Bala Bello Tinka, expressed appreciation to Allah ( SWT) for blessing him with the resources and ability to offer his modest contribution to the development of Islam.

He appreciated Governor Inuwa Yahaya for exhibiting exemplary leadership, describing him as a leader with uncommon qualities, urging the people of the state to heed to the visiting scholar’s advice by voting Inuwa again for the second term to consolidate on the gains of his first term stewardship.

Also commenting, the Commissioner of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, Muhammad Magaji Gettado remarked that Governor has distinguished himself as a good leader with passion for excellence, making reference with the recently commissioned ultramodern tsangaya School at Yelanguruza in the state capital and other people- oriented projects.

The state chairman of Fitiyanul Islam, Sheikh Bashir Ladan who spoke on behalf of all Tijjaniya followers, thanked Governor Inuwa for his constant support to Faidha, describing his as a just leader who cares for his people.

He assured of continued prayers and support of the Tijjaniya followers to the Governor and for the peace and progress if Gombe State.
