Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni has assured more support to security operatives in the state to enhance their performance for a secured Yobe state.
He gave the assurance in his office today in Damaturu when presented with an award won by the “Operation Haba Maza” security outfit as the best Police patrol outfit in Nigeria, by the Nigeria Police Force.
Governor Buni established Operation Haba Maza in 2019 as an emergency support to the conventional security agencies in the state, according to a statement by his media aide Mamman Mohammed.
He said the head of the outfit CSP Muhammad S. Shehu, was carefully selected to ensure delivery. “I am never disappointed, Shehu has done us proud by living up to our expectations and winning this award.”
Governor Buni commended security agencies in the state for the synergy and teamwork, which has grossly reduced the rate of crime across the state.
The commissioner, Yobe State Police Command, Garba Ahmed, commended the governor for establishing the Haba Maza outfit.
“The outfit has remain a strong pillar of fighting crime in Damaturu the state capital and its environs.
“Your Excellency, we would appreciate extension of the outfit to other major towns in the state to help us curb crime,” he appealed.
The commissioner requested additional vehicles to boost logistics for effective patrol across the state.
