Gov Fintiri receives Adamawa new CP

Adamawa State Governor Ahnadu Umaru Fintiri on Tuesday received the state’s new Commissioner of Police, CP Sikiru Kayode Akande, in his office at Government House, Yola.

The Governor charged him to maintain the efforts of his predecessors in fighting crimes in the State, described the new CP as a gallant and educated officer with a rich profile, admonished him to use his experience in the service to combat crime in the State.

The Governor emphasized that security in Adamawa State has improved immensely because of the huge resources the Government put in place to fight crimes.

He added that the present administration has been given maximum support to the Police and reiterated that his doors are always wide open to security agencies.

Fintiri charged the new CP Sikiru Kayode Akande not to nursemaid in his responsibility but work for the development of the State and the Country as a whole.

The Governor guaranteed the new CP his Administration maximum cooperation for him to succeed.

The new CP Sikiru Kayode Akande disclosed that Adamawa State was not new to him having served as a youth corps member in the defunct Gongola State.

He pledged that in the next few weeks perpetrators of crimes will be apprehended to serve as a deterrence to others in the State, and assured to serve the State diligently and make Adamawa the safest place in the North-East Region.
