Gunmen have killed 14 people in communities of Mariga Local Government Area of Niger State between Thursday and Friday.
The gunmen first attacked Shadadi on Thursday, where they killed eight people and razing their houses, a state legislator Usman Musa told the BBC Hausa service.
He said five of the eight people killed were his relations, comprising two women and their three children, as well as their three neighbours. The lawmaker added that the gunmen also killed a man in Marafan Mugumu.
The Niger State Police Command was not immediately available for comment.

“In the Friday attack, about 300 cattle and 200 sheep were rustled,” the lawmaker said.
He added that the gunmen attacked Shadadi again after the funeral prayers for those killed killed earlier on Friday, with four people sustaining gunshot wounds.
