Gunmen on motorcycles killed six men in the Sabo area of Ondo town in Ondo State on Wednesday night.
The gunmen also robbed residents before fleeing the area which has high concentration of Hausa people and northerners. Some of the victims were tea vendors and suya sellers.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the state, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami, confirmed the incident to the Punch, adding that men of the command were already on the trail of the perpetrators.
The incident is coming three days after the killing of over 40 worshippers at the St Francis Catholic Church in Owo, in the same Ondo State.
