The Kebbi State Police Command has confirmed the killing of 88 persons in Danko-Wasagu local government area of the state, with fears that the number may be more.
The spokesman of the command DSP Nafi’u Abubakar told journalists that eight communities in the local government were attacked around 3am on Thursday.
The affected communities include Kimpi, Koro, Dimi, Zutu, Rafin Gora and Iguenge.
He said elderly men and women were most affected, adding that the number of women has yet to be ascertained.
It would be recalled that last month gunmen attacked the same local government where many were killed including the Divisional Police Officer and eight other policemen.
