Hajj: NAHCON warns pilgrims against walking back to Makkah from Mina

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has advised Nigerian pilgrims, especially women, the aged and the sick against walking back to Makkah from Mina, as most of them conclude their stay in the tent city.

Dateline Nigeria reports that most Nigerian pilgrims will not wait until the last day of Tashreeq, which will become incumbent upon those who failed the leave Mina by sunset of Friday.

In an advisory it issued on Thursday, NAHCON urged pilgrims to return to their tents after the stoning of the devil and await buses that will convey them back to Makkah.

“As some pilgrims prepare to return to Makkah tommorow after their Jamrah rites, we wish to advise against walking back to Makkah especially for aged, female and sick pilgrims.

“The distance from Jamaraat to the Haram Mosque alone is about 4.9km. So the walking distance will be between 6km to 8km to various accommodations as transportation might be difficult to get

“We strongly advise pilgrims to please return to their tents and await buses that will convey them back to Makkah,” NAHCON said in the statement.
