Several bandits have been killed in a rival clash between gunmen belonging to the camp of terrorist kingpin Bello Turji and others in Zamfara State.

According to reports, fight between the two groups started when Turji led an operation on the camp of gunmen loyal to another bandit leader known as Dullu. About 30 gunmen and two of their leaders were reportedly killed in the clash, the BBC reported.

Residents of the area said the clash took place in the village of Maniya, adding that Dullu and another top bandit called Dan Maigari were killed.

It is believed that Turji’s attack followed the killing of some of his relations by the Dullu group recently.

“Some sick relations of Turji were travelling to Kano from Shinkafi for medical attention when they were intercepted and killed by the Dullu group,” a resident told the BBC.

He added that Dullu had continued to kill people, while Turji had stopped, with many saying he had repented.

The two groups reportedly suffered serious casualties in the clash and Turji was said to have personally caught Dullu and killed him.
