How Navy personnel escaped from kidnappers ‘after killing two’

Nigerians have been celebrating a personnel of the Nigerian Navy, Ak Bala, who successfully gained his freedom, a month after his abduction by kidnappers on his way to Kebbi State.

Dateline Nigeria observed that Ak Bala’s ‘bravery story’ was shared by many people on social media, including the former spokesman of the Nigerian Army, retired Brig Gen Sani Usman.

“Good news, a brave Nigerian Navy personnel, Ak Bala, who was kidnapped sometimes on 24 Feb 21, on his way to Kebbi on leave, has succefully gained his freedom.

“He successfully disarmed one of the kidnappers, then used his weapon to kill two of them and escaped.

“He had been in captivity for a Month plus and had studied their movement, identified their weakness and took advantage when the opportunity presented itself. It’s truly a gallant move, well done Sailor,” Usman said in a post that since been shared by over 200 people.

Many said he should be promoted for his gallantry.
