Speaker of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila said he has discussed the Infectious Diseases Bill with the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum and Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi.
Gbajabiamila disclosed this via a post on his twitter handle on Monday.
Dateline Nigeria reports that the Infectious Diseases Bill has generated controversy since it was introduced to the green chamber upon the resumption of the lawmakers from recess.
“I spoke with the Chairman NGF Kayode Fayemi. From our discussion it appears there was some miscommunication between NGF and House of Representatives.
“I believe Gov. Fayemi’s narrative as I have known him for many years and will convey same to my colleagues. The House and the Govs irrespective of party affiliation have always and will continue to work in the best interest of our country.
“We remain committed to the Joint Task of nation building and we will also work on the Control of Infectious diseases Bill together to produce a Bill satisfactory to all,” he said.
