Jigawa State Governor Mallam Umar Namadi has launched this year’s tree planting campaign. He also distributed aquatic weeds, working materials, and typher grass at the Unity School premises and the Ringim Local Government Secretariat, respectively.
The Governor revealed that the state government planned to undertake the production of 5000 units of improved clean cooking economy stove that will be distributed to the citizens across the 27 local government areas of the state.
He also said his administration will provide solar powered electricity to power at least three remote villages, one in each of the senatorial districts in the state.
The materials, which include canoes, hoes, cutlasses, rakes, shovels, and fishing nets, were distributed to fifteen self-help groups drawn from 13 local government areas in the state.
