A member of the House of Representatives representing Babura/Garki Federal Constituency in Jigawa State!, Isa Dogonyaro, has passed on.
The death was announced on Friday in a Facebook post by the deceased’s elder sister Meena Dogonyaro, disclosing that his funeral prayer (Janazah) will take place after Juma’at prayer at the National Mosque in Abuja.
“It’s true. To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return. Every soul shall taste death. My brother, my pillar, my Koguna is no more. May Allah forgive you Koguna, may death be a rest for you. May Allah grant you paradise. Thank you for the calls and messages.
“My friends in Abuja the Jana’iza is after Juma’at Prayer at the National Mosque. Please Attend I would appreciate it so much. Thank you,” she posted.
Dateline Nigeria reports that the late Dogonyaro who held the traditional title of Kogunan Ringim was the son of former president of the National Council of Women’s Societies (NCWS) and was Secretary of Jam’iyyar Matan Arewa (JMA) late Hajiya Laila Dogonyaro.
Before his election as member of the House of Representatives on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), Dogonyaro worked as a Special Assistant, Security and Intelligence to Senator Ahmad Lawan during his stint as President of the Senate from July 2019 to November 2022.
He had also worked with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) where he joined as a detective in 2005, before rising to the position of Principal Detective Superintendent/Deputy Head. In between he has served as Special Assistant to the Executive Chairman of the EFCC, trainer at the EFCC Training & Research Institute Karu, among others
He is survived by two wives and children as well as siblings.
