The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kaduna State, Rt. Hon. Isa Mohammed Ashiru, has announced Barrister Irmiya Ishaku Kantiok as his running mate for the 2027 election.
Ashiru made the announcement on Wednesday, describing Kantiok as a “battle-tested legal titan” with the intellect, integrity and resilience needed to drive development in Kaduna State.
“Today, I proudly announce Barrister Irmiya Ishaku Kantiok as my running mate for the 2027 gubernatorial race under our great party, the African Democratic Congress” Ashiru said in a statement.
He noted that Kantiok, a former member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly representing Zonkwa constituency for three terms, has a record of courtroom victories and legislative service.
“Barr. Ishaku Kantiok embodies the intellect, integrity, and resilience Kaduna State deserves at this time of its development. His courtroom victories and legislative service reflect unyielding commitment to justice, good governance, and equitable development, and fighting for the people even amid electoral storms that tested true character,” he said.
Ashiru said the ticket represents experience, competence and vision, and pledged that if elected, their administration would focus on upholding the rule of law, youth empowerment, infrastructure development, and inclusive growth across all zones of the state.
“Together, we will forge a united Kaduna State, where the rule of law reigns, youth thrive, infrastructure booms, and every zone rises. This is a ticket of experience, competence, and vision for a greater, prosperous Kaduna State,” he added.
Kantiok served in the Kaduna State House of Assembly on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before joining the ADC.
