Kaduna govt appoints 3 new traditional rulers

Malam Nasir El-Rufai has approved the appointment of three new traditional rulers for Jere, Kachia and Kufana.

The appointments are done in accordance with the Kaduna State Traditional Institution Law, No.21 of 2021.

The law lists the recognised ruling houses and kingmakers for all traditional councils, and prescribes the pattern of succession for each.

Following recommendations by the Ministry of Local Government Affairs, the governor approved the appointment of the following new members of the Kaduna State Council of Chicfs,:

1. Alhaji Abdullahi Daniya Jere, Emir of Jere in Kagarko Local Government Area

2. Mr. Zamani Dogonyaro, Agom Kachia in Kachia Local Government Area

3. Mr. Titus Dauda, Agom Kufana in Kajuru Local Government Area.

Alh. Abdullahi Daniya Jere, who was the Wazirin Jere and has acted as the overseer of Jere Emirate since tthe demise of the late emir, His Highness, Dr. Saad Usman, is expected to provide continuity in the administration of the emirate.

Mr. Zamani Dogonyaro, the new Agom Kachia, was the District Head of Bishini and a member of the Kachia Traditional Council.

Kufana Chiefdom is one of the new chiefdoms in Kaduna State. Mr. Titus Dauda, the pioneer Agom Kufana, was until his appointment the District Head of Kufana.
