Kano Deputy Governor Murtala Sule Garo assumes office

The Deputy Governor of Kano State, Murtala Sule Garo, has officially assumed duty at his office at the Government House, Kano.

Garo resumed duties on Wednesday in the company of former Governors Ibrahim Shekarau and Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

Former Deputy Governor Abdullahi T. Gwarzo; Chairman House Committee on Appropriation, Abubakar Kabir Bichi; Alhassan Ado Doguwa were also present.

Others included member representing Tsanyawa/Bagwai Federal Constituency, Hon. Yusuf Ahmad Badau, member representing Gwarzo/Kabo Federal Constituency, Abdullahi Mu’azu Babangandu; FCT Minister for State, Mariya Bunkure; ormer ALGON chairman and Madakin Karaye, Ibrahim Ahmad Karaye; Former Nassarawa Local Government Chairman, Lamin Sani; Mukhtar Ishaq Yakasai.

Speaking at the event, Murtala Sule Garo expressed his sincere appreciation to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, for the confidence reposed in him.

He also extended his appreciation to the leaders and elders of the APC, particularly those who accompanied him to this office.

Garo said, “I have heard all your admonitions and suggestions. I assure you that, God willing, I will heed them and remain loyal and serve diligently under His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.”

Garo prayed for Allah’s guidance and mercy as he assumed responsibility, while thanking associates, stakeholders and supporters for their steadfast support throughout the process.

Garo reiterated Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s commitment to the “Kano First Agenda”, which prioritises the welfare of the people through sustained investment in education, water supply, healthcare, job creation and agriculture.

He added that the administration remains committed to peace and economic development, ensuring the state youths realize their full potential.

Earlier, Shekarau and Ganduje advised the Deputy Governor to remain patient and loyal, noting that such virtues are key to his success.

The duo assured him of their guidance and support at all times.
