Kano State government has shut three private hospitals operating without a licence.
The hospitals located in Kumbotso Local Government Area of the state were uncovered during an oversight visit on health institutions.
The secretary of the Kano State Private Health Institution Management Agency (PHIMA) Dr Usman Tijjani Aliyu disclosed this in a statement.

He said the affected hospitals were found to be operating without requisite licence and in contravention of the provisions of the medical profession.
Dr Aliyu also said that the authorities will take appropriate actions on the defaulting hospitals.
PHIMA, which is under the state’s Ministry of Health, had in a joint operation with the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) last year, arrested an alleged fake doctor practicing in the state.
Usman said, while in police custody, the suspect had confessed that he was working with someone else’s document, which stole from the owner.
