The Kano State Police Command has arrested six suspected mobile phone thieves operating within Kano metropolis and recovered two of their operational tricycles and 15 stolen mobile phones.
The suspects were arrested between 11th and 15th of January, 2025 by a team of Police Operatives attached to Special Intervention Squad (SIS) of the Command’s Criminal Investigation Department.
This achievement was made possible through credible information received and intelligence-led raids on criminal hideouts and black spots within Kano Metropolis.
Suspects arrested:
i. Bashir Isah
ii. Isyaku Bala
iii. Mudansir Ayuba
iv. Muzambil Abdullahi
v. Ibrahim Mohammed
vi. Hassan Sagir
All the suspects of various addresses within Kano Metropolis confessed to the crime and further stated that they specialized in disguising as Tricycle Riders and stealing of passengers mobile phones.
Items Recovered:
i. Two (2) Operational Tricycles with Reg No. KBT-850WZ and DAL-113WZ
ii. Fifteen (15) Mobile Phones
The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Salman Dogo Garba commended the officers and men involved in the operation for their professionalism and dedication.

Finally, the CP warns that the Command will continue to crack down on all forms of criminality in the State, including mobile phone theft, armed robbery, thuggery (Daba), etc.
