Kano police receive 2 gun trucks, 3 other vehicles

  • 28 suspected armed robbers (Yan Daba) arrested

Kano State Police Command under the leadership of CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, fsi received new crime fighting equipment procured for the Nigeria Police Force by the Nigeria Police Trust Fund 2020 Intervention as follows;

i. Two (2) Gun Trucks Toyota Land Cruiser (Buffalo) Motor Vehicles.
ii. Three (3) Operational Pick-up Toyota Land Cruiser (Buffalo) Motor Vehicles.

While handing over the equipment to teams of Operation Puff Adder through DCP Sule Balarabe, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations, the CP charged the teams to make good use of the equipment to achieve the policing mandate enshrined in Section 4 of Nigeria Police Act, 2020.

Clearance Operations conducted between 20/01/2022 to 27/01/2022 by teams of Operation Puff Adder led by CSP Bashir Musa Gwadabe, led to the arrest of Twenty Eight (28) suspected armed robbers (Yan Daba) that specialized in using dangerous weapons and robbing people’s Mobile Phones and other valuables. Four (4) Tricycles and other dangerous weapons were recovered. Investigation is in progress.

On the 24/01/2022, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, fsi meets with the Command’s Management Team. He charged officers that, criminals will have no hiding place in Kano State. The Command has declared war against all forms of thuggery (Daba) and drug abuse (Kwaya). No stone will be left unturned as officers are battle ready to ensure security and safety of the good people of Kano State. The CP directed Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers to intensify Community Policing engagements, constant raids of Criminal hideouts and black spots, intelligence-led and visibility policing, sustain the Operation Puff Adder, and officers are warned to adhere strictly to the ethics of the Force.

The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, fsi warns that, criminals will have no hiding place in Kano State. They are advice to either repent or leave the State completely. Otherwise, they will be arrested and face the full wrath of Law. He also thanked Kano State Government, the good people of the State, other security agencies, members of Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Civil Liberty Organizations (CLOs) and Community Policing Stakeholders for their prayers, encouragement, continuous support and cooperation. He urged residents to pray for the State, the Nation and report incidences to the nearest Police Station and not to take laws into their hands. Rigorous patrol, raids of criminal hideouts and black spots will continue throughout the State, as the Command will sustain the ongoing “Operation Puff Adder.”
