The Katsina State Government has declared Friday, May 29, 2026, a work-free day for all public sector workers to mark the Eid-el-Kabir festival.
The announcement was made Tuesday in a statement by the Ministry of Information and Culture, saying the move is to enable workers fully celebrate the occasion with their families and loved ones.
The Federal Government had earlier declared Wednesday, May 27, and Thursday, May 28, 2026, as public holidays for the Eid-el-Kabir Sallah festivities. With the state’s addition of Friday, public sector employees in Katsina will enjoy a four-day break.
Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda wished residents a joyful celebration and urged them to observe safety guidelines during the festivities. He also called on the people to use the sacred days to pray fervently for peace in the state and the nation.
“The Katsina State Government remains committed to the welfare of its workforce and the well-being of its citizens during this important time,” the statement said.
