One of the police officers deployed to guard the Government Science Secondary School that came under attack by gunmen, was shot in the neck, residents told Dateline Nigeria.
Two police officers were on duty at the school in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State when the attack happened.
Residents said the injured police officer had been taken to a hospital in the state.
Gunmen Friday night attacked the secondary school when students had gone to bed and abducted many.
Residents said only 300 out of the over 800 students in the school have been found.
