Abubakar Malami, SAN, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate for Kebbi State in the 2027 general elections, has appointed Ambassador Garba Bello Manga, a former Nigerian Ambassador to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea), as Ambassador for Diaspora and International Relations of his Campaign Council.
The appointment was formally conveyed in a letter issued on behalf of the leadership of the ADC in Kebbi State by Malami, in his capacity as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2027 elections.
Ambassador Manga, who hails from Rikoto Ward in Zuru Local Government Area of Kebbi State, brings diplomatic experience and international exposure to the campaign council through his previous service as Nigeria’s representative in North Korea.
In his new role, Ambassador Manga is expected to contribute to the campaign council’s engagement with Nigerians in the diaspora and support its international relations initiatives, particularly in areas involving communication, outreach and relationship-building.
The appointment was announced in the course of a courtesy engagement between Malami and the former ambassador, providing an opportunity for cordial interaction and the formal communication of the new responsibility.
Malami’s decision to appoint a former diplomat to the position reflects the campaign council’s intention to draw on the experience of individuals with backgrounds in diplomacy and international engagement as it prepares for the 2027 governorship election in Kebbi State.
Ambassador Manga’s appointment adds an international relations component to the campaign council’s structure as the ADC candidate continues preparations for the forthcoming electoral contest.
