Kebbi governor visits ‘ready to be commissioned’ GB Foods Africa Factory

The Governor of Kebbi state, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, has once again extolled the virtures of President Muhammadu Buhari administration which has culminated in bringing in foreign investors into the country.

Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu made this observation when he paid a working visit to Messrs GB Foods Africa Factory and Farm at Gafara, Ngaski Local Government Area of the state this Thursday.

At the ready to be commissioned factory, which has since started test production of tomato paste, Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu inspected the company’s laboratory, seedling room and germination and Green house. He also demonstrated the planting of seedlings with the company’s planting machine.

Governor Bagudu expressed happiness at the progress of work and also thanked the company for honouring its social responsibilities which has manifested in the improvement of the livelihood of the host communities.

In his remarks, the Site Manager of the project, Mr. Tunde Jaiyeola, thanked the Governor for his frequent inspection visits to the company as well as his support and commitment which has ensured the successful takeoff of the company.

He said the company operates a farm of 160 kilometers of drip water irrigation scheme covering 300 hectares.

Mr. Jaiyeola also informed the Governor that the company now produces over 400 tonnes per day installed capacity.

At the occasion, a Spanish agronomist working for the company, Mr. Iguatia, thanked the Governor for providing a peaceful enabling environment for agricultural production which has resulted in the establishment of the company in the state and also commended the host community for the hospitality it has extended to the company.

Elsewhere, on his way back, the Governor paid a condolence visit to the district head of Koko, Alhaji Muhammadu Bello Koko on the death of Alhaji Musa Magajin Garin Koko and Alhaji Aliyu Sarkin Aski Koko who both died recently and prayed to Allah to grant their souls repose.
