Lagos billionaire Super TV boss killed by a lady – Police

The police are suspecting a lady to be behind the murder of the Super TV Nigeria CEO, Michael Usifo Ataga, in Lagos.

The lady who is currently on the run took the billionaires ATM card and mobile phone after taking his life at an apartment in Lekki Phase I where the duo had been for three to four days, the police told the BBC Pidgin.

“The man joined her there on Sunday. Then on Thursday, he was supposed to go to Abuja to meet his family to celebrate his 50th birthday,” Lagos police commissioner, Hakeem Odumosu, said.

“Unfortunately, he did not come out that day… When the door was forced open, his lifeless body was unfortunately found on the floor.

“He was putting on only boxers in a pool of blood,” he said.

Police findings, according to the CP, show that the said lady introduced herself to the billionaire as an American.

Ataga, who lived in Banana Island, was reported missing on a June 13 by concerned friends and family members.

“They stayed there (in the Lekki apartment) for three to four days, moving out together in the man’s car,” said CP Odumosu.

The police disclosed that the lady had withdrawn an “undisclosed” amount using the deceased’s ATM card she allegedly took after his death, adding that when they found out about the withdrawal, they blocked the card.

The police said they don’t have much information about the suspect but that they are investigating.

His family has been informed and the Range Rover he used to go to the place where he was allegedly killed has been recovered, said the police.
