Former Plateau State Governor and Senator representing Plateau South, Simon Bako Lalong, and his wife, Mrs. Regina Simon Lalong, served as wedding sponsors for Miss Mildred Madkanai Sansuk and Mr. Kevin Gurumnung Donglong at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cathedral, Shendam.
The ceremony, held on Friday, coincided with the Lalong couple’s 28th wedding anniversary, which they marked with a thanksgiving Mass in appreciation to God for His faithfulness and blessings on their family.
Addressing the newlyweds, Senator Lalong urged them to remain steadfast in commitment and build their home on love, sacrifice, patience, mutual respect and faith in God. He said successful marriages thrive when couples make sacrifices for each other and face life’s challenges together.
Senator Lalong and his wife expressed gratitude to God for sustaining their 28-year union, blessing them with children, and giving them the grace to impact lives through mentorship and service to humanity. They reflected on their journey in family life and public service, noting that faith and mutual understanding have remained the foundation of their marriage.
The Holy Mass and wedding were officiated by Rev. Fr. John Migap, Administrator of the Sacred Heart Catholic Cathedral, Shendam Diocese, who offered prayers for God’s continued blessings on the new couple and on Senator Lalong and his wife.
Family members, friends, associates and well-wishers joined the celebrations, thanking God for His goodness and faithfulness to both couples.
