The President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan departed Abuja Monday morning on a condolence visit to Sokoto over the demise of Alhaji Hassan Danbaba who was head of Sokoto Caliphate kingmakers.
Lawan is being accompanied on the trip by the Governor of Yobe State and Caretaker Chairman of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Mai Mala Buni.
Others on the entourage include Senator Mohammed Sani Musa, Senator Ibrahim Danbaba, Sarkin Sudan Awwal Lawal, Sardauna Habib Fari and Alhaji Halilu Mohammed Modi.
They are expected to proceed from the Sokoto airport straight to the Palace to commiserate with the Sultan of Sokoto and also offer prayers for the repose of the soul of the deceased.
The Senate President and members of his delegation are due back in Abuja immediately after the visit.
