Lawan mourns death of media aide Mohammed Isa

Senate President Ahmad Lawan has expressed shock over the death of his Special Assistant on Media (Print) Mohammed Isa.

Mohammed Isa died on Friiday after he was involved in a road accident while travelling from Minna, Niger State to Abuja on Sunday. His friend and co-traveller Danladi Ndayebo, a former information commissioner in Niger State died earlier on Monday.

The senate president, in a post on his Facebook page, said the late Isa was very dedicated to his duties, was never found wanting and was very professional in his journalistic calling.

“My heart goes out to the family of Mohammed Isa who was until his death yesterday evening my Special Assistant on Media.

“I also sympathise with his colleagues at the National Assembly and also the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) over this tragic news.

“I commiserate with the government and people of Katsina State over the incident.

“The news of Mohammed’s death was both shocking and heart-rending to me and the entire staff of my office. He was very dedicated to his duties, was never found wanting and was very professional in his journalistic calling.

“It is my prayer that Almighty Allah grant his loved ones the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, forgive his sins and grant him Aljannah Firdaus,” he posted.
