Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State has signed into law the order restricting movement of people in the local government areas under lockdown.
The local governments under lockdown are those in which cases of Coronavirus (Covid-19) have been recorded.
Known as Persons Movement (Restriction) Order 2020, under the Public Health Law Cap. 110 Laws of Katsina State 1991, it came into force on Saturday, April 11, 2020.
“Any person who violates the provision of the Order commits an offence punishable under Section 114 of the Penal Code”.
Made in the interest of public health, it shall however, not apply to the persons mentioned in the schedule to this order, a statement signed by Abdu Labaran Malumfashi, DG Media, said on Monday.
