Maulud: NSCDC boss felicitates Muslims, harps on public peace

The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has felicitated all Muslims in the country and beyond on this year’s occasion of Eid el-Malaud celebration, calling them and members of the general public to embrace and practice peace as exemplified by the life of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

As part of this year’s commemoration, the Federal government has through the Ministry of Interior, declared Wednesday, 27th September as public holiday to enable Islamic faithful participate in some religious events lined up for the exercise.

The Commandant General, in a statement by the NSCDC spokesperson CSC Afolabi Babawale, noted with dismay the spate of insecurity bedevilling the country and called on the citizenry to continue to support the government’s peace efforts by collaborating with state actors in tackling the menace

The NSCDC boss, who decried the worrisome incidences of banditry activities, kidnapping, abduction and other criminal acts in spite of measures put in place, admonished the public to keep faith in agencies saddled with the responsibilities of ensuring law and order, assuring that the ugly situation must be confronted.

He reiterated the determination of the Corps in the protection of critical national assets and Infrastructure and its resolve in the protection of lives and property as it works in synergy with sister agencies with collaboration of all and sundry.
