Minister meets Kano governor on North-West Development Commission take-off

The Minister of State for Regional Development, Uba Maigari Ahmadu, continued his working visit to Kano State on Friday, May 15, 2026, with high-level engagements aimed at advancing the Federal Government’s agenda for inclusive regional development in the North-West.

As part of the visit, Ahmadu paid a courtesy call on the Executive Governor of Kano State at the Government House, Kano.

Discussions focused on strengthening collaboration between the Federal Government and the Kano State Government to ensure the effective operational take-off of the North-West Development Commission (NWDC).

The meeting underscored a shared commitment to fostering institutional synergy, accelerating regional infrastructure development, promoting economic growth, and improving citizens’ well-being in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

Ahmadu reaffirmed the Federal Government’s resolve to position the NWDC as a strategic vehicle for addressing developmental challenges in the region.

He said the commission would work to unlock the North-West’s socio-economic potential through coordinated, people-oriented interventions.
