The Muslim Lawyers Association of Nigeria (MULAN) has congratulated the Vice- Chancellor Federal University Dutse, Prof.Abdulkarim Sabo Mohammed over his well deserved appointment as the third substantive Vice- Chancellor Federal University Dutse.
The National President of MULAN, Professor Abdulqadir Ibrahim Abikan who led members of the Jigawa state chapter to pay a courtesy call on the VC said the experience and exposure of Professor Abdulkarim to global best practices in United Kingdom and Malaysia will impact positively on the university.
Prof. Abikan said the leadership qualities of humility, selflessness and putting interest of others first which Prof.Abdulkarim exhibited while he was leading the Nigerians in Diaspora Organization in Malaysia gives him the confident that the staff and students of FUD will experience good and symphatic governance during his tenure.
He said MULAN is ready to collaborate with FUD especially in the area of establishing a faculty of Law adding that the faculty when established will absorb students from School of Legal studies in Jigawa who are desirous of furthering their education.
The MULAN President said the university can also seek collaboration with universities in Malaysia as well as multilateral finance bodies that can provide funding for some of the university’s projects.
In his remark, the VC thanked association for finding time from their tight schedule to visit and honor him. He said the issue of the faculty of Law is in the pipeline adding that the university is ready to seek the advise of the professional body when the time comes.
