My relationship with Gov Ortom cordial – Senator Jev

Senator Orker Jev (Benue North West) has said that he enjoys a very cordial relationship with the Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom.

Speaking with journalists at the Benue Peoples House Makurdi after a meeting with the governor on Tuesday, Senator Jev said he and Governor Ortom had resolved not to allow anything to sour the relationship they had built over time.

“Any time there is anything, I sit down with him and we thrash it out because in these days of social media where there are no ethics or code of conduct, anybody can post anything on the social media and if you don’t take time, such will lead to a misunderstanding between very good friends or associates. So between the two of us, we have decided that such will not happen,” Senator Jev said.

He said he and Governor Ortom had resolved to maintain their good relationship in the interest of their people.

“Like the Governor always says, tomorrow belongs to God and it is not for us to determine what happens tomorrow; so we leave our fate in God’s hands and allow Him to decide. From my part and I am sure he has also assured me that on his part, nothing will come in between the relationship that we have built for ourselves,” Senator Jev stated.

The senator acknowledged the economic difficulties experienced by Nigerians in 2020, noting that provision of potable water for his constituents remains a priority.
